Prisoner in Suitcase

MEXICO CITY: A Mexican prisoner hoped to take a trip to freedom by packing himself into his girlfriend's suitcase. But guards at the jail in the southeastern town of Chetumal grew suspicious when the woman seemed nervous as she wheeled out the bulging bag after a conjugal visit with the prisoner.
Opening the luggage, guards found Juan Ramirez folded into the fetal position in his underpants and socks, a spokeswoman for local federal police said on Tuesday.
Police say a woman was caught trying to sneak her common-law-husband out of a Mexican prison in a suitcase following a conjugal visit. Ramirez is serving a 20-year sentence for a 2007 conviction for illegal weapons possession.

How did they allowed the woman to carry a suitcase when making a conjugal visit. Maybe the boy was tired remaining in prison for 20 year sentence for illegal weapons possession that lead him to flee from prison. I  think it depends on how many and what kind of weapons he had. I mean, if he had just a hand gun, 20 years seems like a lot of time. But if he had enough weapons to kill a few dozen people, then 20 years is justified.
